Comments Policy

Chetan Rao

We're glad you're actually taking the time to read this Comments Policy. Its purpose is to explain what is and isn't acceptable in our comments section. Here's what you need to know:

Relevant and respectful comments are welcome.

Abusive, spammy, or uncivil comments are not.

We encourage passionate discussion and debate. Just remember to debate the subject or the opinion, NOT the person. This includes debates with other commenters, as well with our writers.

Hate speech, racism, sexism, and comments encouraging violence or illegal activities are not permitted. Such content will be removed.

It is true that the question of what is offensive or abusive can sometimes be subjective. As a result, every moderation decision, whether it is to remove or retain a comment, can always be argued. We cannot meet everyone's approval all the time. We promise to do the best, most unbiased job we can, and we request that you be respectful of our decisions.

Once a comment is moderated (whether removed or retained), we may choose not to discuss the subject or the decision further with any / all of the users concerned. Users whose comments repeatedly require moderation may (and probably will) eventually be banned.

The guidelines here may be updated at any time, without notice.
